


Water shoes or Teva-like sandals for underground water activity.
Bandana / head scarf / doo rag We suggest bringing your own for any tour that may require a helmet(ATV, horseback riding. zipline, tubing, etc).
Bug spray We suggest bringing some biodegradable repellent and anti-itch cream. Like anywere tropical, there may be some mosquitos and/or sand fleas in the early evenings.
No need to exchange money at the airport (the rate is low). Just bring some smaller bills to tip airport porters or buy drinks.
Current exchange rate is aroun $18 MEXICAN PESOS = $1 US dollar.
The hotels, attractions, more established restaurants take credit cards (Visa/MasterCard…some take AMEX but not all). Roadside and local places will take cash.
If you uses $US, you will usually get Mexican change so, either bring smaller bills, or exchange money at your hotel.
Tip as you would at home for restaurants or bars. On tours, please use your discretion in tipping the tour guides, drivers and guides at the attractions. While tipping is not mandatory, it is customary depending on the level of service received. We also suggest tipping your housekeepers either on a daily basis or at the end of your stay.
